McCarren Park, Williamsburg, Brooklyn 1992. The filmmaker Esther Bell filmed an explosion. This is art that can never happen again. (The condo dwellers wouldn’t allow it) Esther told me that the most amazing thing about this project, is how they didn’t have to run away from the scene. In fact, no fire trucks ever roared over from Greenpoint, no police cars. This is the pool, at this point still over grown and inhabited by wild life, live and dead cats, and living people too.
