Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, Assassinated 45 Years Ago Today
Forty five years ago today, America lost a wonderful symbol and figure. He is perhaps most remembered for his eloquent and inspiring speech, “I Have a Dream.”It is important when remembering Dr. King to realize that he was by all means, far from perfect; many other activists and activism groups opposed his ideas. His personal life was flawed and he was no saint. In his last years on earth, he became much more radical in his beliefs, supporting the Poor People’s Campaign, making demands of the government, and fiercely opposing the Vietnam War.
But there is no doubt in my mind that he is one of the most talented, eloquent and inspiring speakers I have ever heard, and should be remembered as all activists should be remembered, because although he may not have been perfect, he still took a stand, brought attention ot inequities and unfairness in America and demanded justice.

New Review: Went to the closing performance of John Scott Dance’s #TheWhitePiece… A remarkable work in response to the human injustice, and indignity of the asylum process that refugees and their supporters must endure.
All of the athleticism found in love, conflict, and injustice is equally expressed in John Scott’s “The White Piece.” So should be dance that moves through a range of subject, and cultural issues, ideas, and context—with a diversified gathering of dancers.
